The Catacombs Film Festival is a monthly awards competition and biannual screening series dedicated to the very best in horror, thrillers, and the dark arts of cinema.

We accept both shorts and feature-length films from around the world. Each month, we recognize excellence in multiple categories — and every 6 months, we host a live theatrical screening of our favorite selections in a real movie theater.
Submissions are only $6.66.
We’re filmmakers ourselves, and we created this festival to showcase what the mainstream overlooks — original, terrifying, atmospheric, and visceral horror.
Catacombs Film Festival is proudly powered by Counterspell Distribution, an independent distributor dedicated to helping filmmakers get their work seen — even short films. We specialize in placing genre content on major AVOD, SVOD, and TVOD streaming platforms, giving selected filmmakers the chance to go beyond the festival circuit. If your film is chosen for a Catacombs showcase, you may also be considered for digital distribution opportunities through Counterspell — because great horror deserves an audience.
